Quick guide: what each part does
- Resin: softening. Pulls the calcium and magnesium out of the water. This is true soft water: soap rinses clean, skin and hair feel softer, and no white crust on faucets or spots on glass. It uses a little salt to clean itself, so it comes with a brine tank.
- Carbon: filtration. Coconut shell carbon that takes the chlorine and chloramine LA adds to its water, plus VOCs, PFAs and more, out of every tap. This is what makes the water taste and smell clean. It does not change hardness.
- Salt free: conditioning. Transforms the hardness minerals through the TAC process (Template Assisted Crystallization) into stable crystals that cannot stick, so scale stops building up in your pipes, fixtures and water heater. No salt and no brine tank. The minerals stay in, so it does not soften the water or change how it feels.
