What does maintenance involve?
For the whole home system: check the brine tank every two to three months and pour in a bag of salt if it's low, $8 to $10 at any hardware store. The RO filters change once a year ($199 for all three, no labor charge). The system cleans itself automatically.
What's the warranty?
Lifetime on all parts and pieces, five years on the media bed, one year on the RO system. Every service trip in your first year is free; after that a flat $99 trip fee applies.
Why does the system have one tank, not two?
It's a single tank with a mixed media bed that both softens and filters, paired with a small brine tank for salt. Dual tank systems hold more media and go longer between regenerations, and we'll tell you honestly whether that is worth it for you.
What happens in a power outage?
Your water stays soft and filtered. The system only needs power for its monthly self clean, which resumes when the power does.
How big is the equipment?
The main tank is about 10 inches around and 60 inches tall; the brine tank is roughly 17 by 17 inches. The tankless RO is about 15 inches tall and 6 inches wide under the sink.
Softener or filter, which do I need?
A softener removes hardness minerals that scale your appliances and dry your skin; a filter removes contaminants, chemicals, and odors. Our whole home systems do both in one tank, and the RO handles your drinking water.
